MELBOURNE, 1 OCTOBER 2025 — Buildxact, a global software as a service (SaaS) company that provides a simple solution for small-to-medium sized residential builders and renovators to better manage and grow their business, announced today, a technology integration with LiDAR scanning app RENDR.

RENDR’s LiDAR scanning technology allows users to scan rooms quickly and capture highly accurate measurements and precise project parameters via a mobile device. Scans can then seamlessly sync into the Buildxact platform, so users can generate detailed takeoffs and pricing at less than half the time. Measurements are accurate within 1%, even in furnished or cluttered spaces.

“Nowhere else can a contractor give measurements on a project and turn around actual pricing by product SKU for every item in the project scope within minutes,” said Steve Yates, CEO at Buildxact. “This integration is the cutting-edge of technology and revolutionizes the process for contractors allowing them to create massive efficiencies in their process.”

RENDR was developed by contractors, for contractors, bringing real-world construction experience directly into the technology. The founder and CEO, AJ Ballantine, is a contractor.

“We built RENDR to solve the exact challenges we faced every day like time-consuming measuring, manual data entry, and lost leads,” he said. “Our solution doesn’t just capture accurate floor plans, it also records critical project parameters and field notes that sync seamlessly to Buildxact. This enables contractors to move faster, respond quicker, and ultimately win more jobs.”

This technology comes at a critical time when labour costs are higher than ever, and contractors are looking for ways to be more productive and lower costs.

The integration is available for Buildxact and RENDR users that have the Pro version of an iOS device.

“By eliminating manual measuring, note taking, and data re-entry, the RENDR integration with Buildxact saves contractors more than two hours per job, freeing up valuable time to bid on more projects and deliver greater results,” Ballantine said.

Additional tools like RENDR’s Invite to Capture enable homeowners to scan a space remotely, reducing costly site visits and accelerating lead qualification. The integration also supports seamless exports to multiple CAD platforms, saving design-build teams substantial time. RENDR’s advanced LiDAR tech works efficiently—even in furnished or cluttered rooms—without the need to clear paths, unlike traditional measuring methods.

“We identify and collaborate with partners that bring true value to our users, including those users who are not scoping projects or working off ready to go plans,” Yates said. “Buildxact was the first to include a takeoff tool in our platform so builders could calculate quantities from a plan. Now, with the RENDR integration, they can do that in a few minutes, even without plans to start with. The value we are delivering translates to every stakeholder in the project process, ultimately making the industry more efficient, the homeowner more satisfied, and the project a success.”

With recently launched AI-powered features along with the RENDR integration, Buildxact is able to streamline every aspect of a home renovation, empowering the contractor to spend less time working and more time doing the things they love.
