Live pricing technology reduces time and cost, improves accuracy and close rate for builders

AUSTIN, TEXAS – MAR 6, 2025 – Buildxact, a global software as a service company that provides a simple solution for dealers, residential builders and remodelers to better manage and grow their business, reports that customers using Buildxact with The Home Depot pricing integration have grown business twofold year-over-year.

Joshua Bradley is a custom home builder serving a region in Central Kentucky who became a Buildxact user in August of 2023. Since then, the sales of his company, BradWay Construction and Restoration, have more than doubled. In 2024, the company’s first full year using Buildxact, annual revenue was $945,000. In just the first two months of the year, BradWay has grown sales volume to a 2025 revenue forecast of $4M.

Buildxact recently launched an AI tool in its platform, which allows users, like Bradley, to generate project estimate material suggestions and exact quantities in as little as 30 seconds using real-time material pricing directly integrated with The Home Depot’s live price catalogs. This AI-driven feature enhances efficiency, providing detailed cost breakdowns and enabling seamless adjustments via AI prompts or manual input.

“If you’re trying to solicit multiple vendors, you always get different pricing weeks apart, days apart, and all of that adds timeline to your build out,” said Bradley presenting at the International Builder Show. “Whereas if you’ve got The Home Depot tied to Buildxact, it’s an instant thing. You click it and in a couple seconds, it’ll load and it’ll populate whatever’s in that estimate with the latest Home Depot price, and it’ll lock it into that price.”

The new AI-powered estimating tool significantly reduces the time required for builders, like those at Operation Lifeline, to create accurate project estimates, giving them a competitive edge with up-to-date pricing from The Home Depot. The integration ensures precision, helping builders streamline the bidding process and win more projects.

“We’re a nonprofit developer that focuses on veteran housing,” Erick Saks, executive director at Operation Lifeline said, noting that the company is building five homes now, one of which will go completely mortgage free to a veteran. “We don’t have much when it comes to margins. Everything we do is very, very tight, so it’s critical that we know exactly what it’s going to cost, the projects that we’re putting together, the houses that we’re building, and this integration has been fantastic, especially in today’s shifting lumber market.”

All the automation helps minimize errors and risks for the contractors.

“With The Home Depot’s integration, it’s exactly a line by line, so it mitigates that risk,” Bradley added. “It goes directly from Buildxact to a cart, there’s no human error allowed to be input and to transfer to your Pro Xtra account. You can put in your PO, your quote number, and can check out in that moment. It takes all that re-entering error, human error that happens often, out of the mix.”

“Speed matters in construction—quick and accurate estimates win jobs,” Bradley said. “If clients receive clear, detailed estimates in record time, it builds trust and improves your close rate. Since implementing Buildxact, we’ve achieved more than a 95% reduction in errors, with our template assemblies nearing 99% accuracy due to their meticulous setup. While no system is 100% perfect, the efficiency gains have been game changing, saving us countless hours per week and virtually eliminating costly mistakes.”

Bradley estimates that before using Buildxact to today, the company has been able to reduce almost 80% of time.

“We already have $2.8M under contract in 2025, which is incredible,” said Bradley. “Even with that explosive growth, I haven’t had to increase the amount of time I spend on estimating. That puts us on track to reach $4M in revenue this year, which will be a 4.5 times growth in annual revenue from the same amount of time spent on estimating.”

Buildxact is a tool in the contractor’s toolbox designed to provide support at all stages of a project.

“We’re only scratching the surface of Buildxact’s potential,” Bradley said. “As we continue to optimize and integrate it into our entire workflow, we expect even greater efficiency gains. Plus, they’ve made it so easy. We had an intern jump into Buildxact and start working in a matter of days.”

With strong partnerships like The Home Depot, Buildxact is strengthening its ability to impact users.

“It’s truly extraordinary to see the Buildxact team’s effort deliver like this to our customers,” said CEO Steve Yates. “These stories are our purpose, especially knowing that the technology helps improve their lives, helping them win back important moments to do the things they love outside of work, while being more productive at work.”

With a presence in five countries, Buildxact continues to innovate and expand to meet the needs of the global residential construction industry.
